HAVE A LOOK AT SOME REVIEWS FROM PEOPLE WHO ALREADY ENJOYED OUR COURSE.

I’ve been following @roelvanhoff his work for quite some time now. When i saw him at @sneakerness last year I knew I had to have a chat with him. He gave me information regarding @sneakersschool. I was sold immediatly. My love for air max has always been prevalent throughout my life allong with my passion for streetwear. From that point on being hyped was an understatement. Me being me I must admit I was kind of anxious leading up to the course but this week has truelly been one of the best experiences of my life. Everything was organised professionally and down to the last detail. I’d recommend this class to anyone with a passion for Sneakers and/or Nike. I definitely hope to pursue this further and I’ve even bought two donor pairs already haha. Thanks again for the amazing week @roelvanhoff and the rest of the guys. I’m so stoked with the result of my bespoke pair of am1’s!!

I was very enthusiastic about the @sneakersschool because I design shoes for years but never known how to make it.
I have reconstruct a lot of sneakers but that’s all. The process about making sneakers was something new for me and I was happy to learn it by the @sneakersschool.
I have no idea before what to expect from the course but I was pretty sure I was on the right place. My inspiration for this Design comes from the colors of #mondriaan art. In combination with safari and elephant prints.
@roelvanhoff have a lot of different leathers in stock. It’s sure you can make a amazing pair yourself with it! I have learned a lot these day’s and the course was pretty good.
@roelvanhoff is a relaxed dude and gives the right explanation. He helps when u ask for his help. The lunch was pretty good! And he try’s to give everyone a good experience. After 5 intensive day’s and hard works I have learned a lot. Now I can Design my sneakers in a different way. I have another look to the sneakers now. Thanks again Roel for the experience and with #airmaxday I will show u guy’s the different methods on silhouettes on the air max 1.

Ever since I was a small kid I loved sneakers and the past years I also became fascinated about the craft of shoemaking. For me it was a natural next step to follow a shoemaking course. However, almost all these courses focus on traditional formal shoes. So as soon as I found out @roelvanhoff was starting a @sneakersschool I knew I had to became part of it!
I’ve not regret my decision to follow this course. In the beginning I was nervous because I had no prior experience in shoemaking or even leather working. In the course you go through every step of making your own shoes from design to lasting. I even found out I’m quite talented in stitching! What I especially liked about the course was that you really create your own shoes from scratch. After every day you can see the leather evolving from a flat patern to a 3d shape and after five days there is you own handmade shoe! The easing part for me was that despite you do all the work yourself @roelvanhoff is always there to help and to make sure the final result is astonashing. Once again thanks for the great course! I can’t wait to create another pair!

After 5 days of @sneakersschool it’s review time.
I had no experience with sewing or leather work what so ever. So I did not know what to expect of this course.
With my iPhone full of screenshots of possible colour combinations and sneaker inspiration I took the drive to Amersfoort.
First I was overwhelmed by all the different leather types and colours available but that was also very inspiring. I just started picking colours and textures and putting them together. With some help from @roelvanhoff I came up with this design.
I saw the pink ostrich on @roelvanhoff instagram feed once and knew right away, that’s one of the colours I wanted to use. I tried to keep them as clean as possible with the white and had to pick a Nike original elephant print leather.
Roel is a super relaxed guy and takes all the time you need to explain everything in to detail. The cool thing is that you do all the work cutting, sewing, nailing, glueing etc.
If you get stuck he is happy to help so you will leave with a pair of sneakers that you are proud of and proud I am.
After the 5 day’s of hard work it’s hard to explain how much I have learned and I am still processing it all. Now when I pick up one of my other pairs airmax one sneakers I look at them with a different eye.
Thanks Roel for the experience and guidance to make my own bespoke sneaker.
If you always wanted to make your own bespoke sneaker now is your chance @sneakersschool

Since starting my bespoke bag making journey a few years ago with @yussico I’ve been longing to learn bespoke sneaker making, but with courses in the USA, could not make it a reality. When my friend Ellen of @looidesign told me about Roel’s course in the Netherlands, I jumped at the opportunity and waited those months to start 2019!
I usually play with colour but with my first sneaker chose to play with pattern and texture as I had a modern white sneaker in mind. I mixed animal prints but added a humorous touch with the vintage comic book print on the heel and tongue and the volt laces complete the on trend look. I call it the Nike Air Max 1 Arctic Fox Editio.
@roelvanhoff has created an amazing school with every detail of the environment and experience thought through in detail and with great taste. The workshop is spacious and comfortable with all the machines and tools. There’s also a fully stocked fridge and superb lunches provided which is a thoughtful touch. The course material is fast paced and hard work but with individual attention from Roel all the way through. Last but by no means least, Roel himself is a great person and teacher – expertly guiding and supporting all the way to make sure each student reaches their goals. In the end we all achieved our ambitions. I’m really thrilled with the outcome of my first bespoke sneaker and thanks to Roel for sharing the passion and inspiring me to create more sneakers! – Yusuf

I came to Europe to visit a leather craft friend who invited me to join her friends to take a five day course for sneaker making by @sneakersschool. After the course was finished the teacher, Roel, asked if I’d be willing to give an honest review from the course. So here it is:
I have a few years of experience in shoemaking and didn’t have any expectations leading up the course. However, I was happily surprised to learn some new tips and make some wonderful new friends in the process. I can genuinely say that @roelvanhoff is knowledgeable about shoemaking and sneakers. Additionally, Roel enjoys teaching and sharing his knowledge. I can sum up his character with his response to a question from a classmate. The question was, “Are you concerned that teaching people your profession will increase competition for you?” His response was, “I think competition is a good thing because it will make me and everyone around me work harder and be better.” That’s Roel- A really nice person who is humble, positive, down to earth and kind. He is such a rare gem and I wish him every success. – Emily

What can I say? There are not enough superlatives to describe last week’s experience. Apart from working hard we had lot’s of fun! How could that not have been, we are 4 leatherworking friends from 4 different countries coming together for a fun week. It was a complete new challenge for at least 3 of us. Driving back home last night, it actually starting sincking in how much we have learned over the past 5 days. I was really surprised by the huge number of pattern parts that go into a pair of Nike Air Max 1! I chose different types of black leather, amongst which the original Nike leather with elephant print. I added a bit of colour with a stylish red on black leopard print leather by @driesvannoten, one of Belgium’s greatest designers. (One of the perks of living in Antwerp 🙂 A small contrasting yellow/greenish X on the back side highlights the fact that these are a truly handmade pair of Air Max 1. I’m still debating if I’ll actually wear this pair or put it under a glass dome in my workshop, that’s how proud I am! All credits go to @roelvanhoff from @sneakersschool as he is the best possible instructor for making your own pair. Roel is such a genuine friendly and patient instructor who thought of all the details! No prior leather working experience is needed, Roel is able to assist you in making a pair of your own! Why wait? Just do it! – Carol

As a leather bag maker, I love leather. The feel, the touch, the smell and the diversity. I’m always interested in learning new things and leather techniques and always wanted to learn how to make bespoke Nikes. And then I saw on IG Roel with his @sneakersschool in the Netherlands. Without any doubts I contacted @roelvanhoff and asked of he was willing to do a class for me and my leather friends. I am so happy he said yes. So here we are a full week in the Sneakersschool, with my friends from Belgium, London and America, having a great time. @roelvanhoff is such a nice guy, leather master and teacher. He has so much patiënt and explaines everything step by step. With a handmade Nike as a result of this nice week. My first handmade is finished . Time for some bespoke Nike adventures @evbswooshed. Thank you Roel for this great experience. I am loving it!

For a while I had the dream to be able to make my own pair or sneakers. Unfortunately, at the time it was only done in America and there was no chance for me to come over. Until I found the @sneakersschool from @roelvanhoff by @instagram. I could not keep up my luck and sent him a message right away. Then of course I had something of expectations but I could not yet imagine how the 5 day course would go.
The course exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed every day. Roel knew very well what he was doing and that also made it very instructive. In the end I have been able to make a really cool Air Max 1 in my opinion and I am very grateful to Roel for that. If it is something to tickle to be able to make your own sneaker then this course is highly recommended!

Through instagram I went to the @sneakersschool. It took a lot of my attention, so I looked at @roelvanhoff his work. His work and love for sneakers made me stand up for the course. Everything was really better than I expected. The course has been dealt down to the last detail. The choice of materials was really big. This made it very difficult to make a decision. Roel showed his first self-developed sneaker, an Air Force 1. From here came the inspiration for the dark and light brown color. I made a selection of them. The explanation and involvement of Roel was really great. I am really satisfied with how my bespokes have become. I would do it again. Thanks Roel!

Together with a friend we participated in this course. When he asked me, I had no doubt and said yes. This fits perfectly with the love and passion for sneakers I have. And the Air Max 1 is the biggest highlight in my personal collection. After waiting for a long time, the moment was there. Worked for 5 full days under the guidance of @roelvanhoff, With all his knowledge, craftsmanship, patience, tips, advice and love for the sneakers, he has guided us and I am more than happy with the end result. It was very difficult to choose from so many different types of materials and colors, especially because you have no idea how it will ultimately look like on the Air Max 1. That’s why I went purely on original colors and prints from @Nike I really like the colors and leather for combination on my first impulse. I can not even find the right words to express what a great addition this experience is in my life as a sneakerhead. And that feeling to walk out with your own handmade shoe is truly MAGIC. Thank you very much for this opportunity @roelvanhoff from @sneakersschool!

Soon I will start cleaning sneakers with my own company @sneakerbar010. To get a feel for the sneaker world, to gain insight into the different materials and leather types of which the sneakers are made, I have been apprenticed to The @sneakersschool by @roelvanhoff. The only sneaker school in Europe! Without any experience I made a sneaker from A to Z, result: great and beautiful! The course was well cared in detail, Roel had everything well prepared, patterns and materials everything was neatly in a box. Professional guidance and explanation, good crockery. Lunch well taken care of. Restfull location, workspace neat and ordered, decor very inviting. Price quality ratio: At first I thought it was an amount! because I did not know what to expect but it is certainly worth it, above my expectations. ROEL YOU DID A EXCELLENT JOB! SURE A FIVE STARS WORTH!
